Introduction: –
Some call her the Queen of Mysteries and some call her the Queen of Crime. But whatever the name, Agatha Christie is one of the most popular mystery writers in the world, as all mystery-lovers know very well. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, “Agatha Christie” is the best-selling author of books other than “William Shakespeare”.
Although different authors’ novels have already been translated from various publications, all of Agatha Christie’s works are being published in full size from Bibliofile Publications in Bangladesh, and in Bengali, subject to the approval of this first Agatha Christie Foundation. It is predicted that the entire essay will be in 22-25 volumes, as well as books from the “New Ercul Poirot Mysteries” series by Sophie Hanna, approved and popular by the Agatha Christie Foundation.
Agatha Christie Samagra-2 contains a total of three novels written by Erkul Poirot. It seems to me an advantage to give separate reviews of the three novels, so today I tried to give a review of the novel “The Murder on the Links” ,,,,,,
Story Summary: –
After hearing the request for help, Ercul Poirot flew to France with his friend Captain Hastings. But it was too late for him to arrive, with his client Paul Reynolds stabbed in the back; His body is lying in a shallow grave on the golf course.
The investigation of the murder started with the help of the local magistrate and the police. He was joined by Mossie Jirখ্যাত, a well-known detective from the Paris intelligence agency. With that began the cold war between the two detectives.
While one may think that one’s own gray cell brain is the biggest weapon, another thinks that these head-scratching techniques are outdated. Now we have to investigate in a more modern way, we have to find all the small clues, we have to identify the culprit with handprints.
Another murder that gave a new dimension to this cold war, another body exactly identical was discovered. Meanwhile, why is Massey Reynolds wearing his son’s overcoat? Whose letter is in the pocket of that coat? Whose second las? Is the killer one, or is there more than one head behind it ?? Detective Jiru on one side and Erkul Poirot on the other, who will solve this mystery ???
Lesson Response: –
If you’re familiar with Agatha Christie’s writing, you know how she plays with female readers. This book is no exception. From the beginning, the reader’s brain has been playing with equal rhythm.
According to the characteristics of his writing, he gives more time to develop the characters in the beginning. As the story progresses, the psychological aspect of each character unfolds little by little, and with that begins the entanglement of mystery, the mystery of which is frozen. And then one by one the suspense and the mystery of the way to run.
Sometimes it seems that ‘A’ is the killer, sometimes it seems that the killer is actually ‘O’. The arrow of suspicion has sometimes gone towards the bride, sometimes towards the son and sometimes towards the beautiful madam next door. But who is the real killer? Who will pierce this shore? If you want to know it, you have to read it in the end.
The whole novel is based on the words of Captain Hastings, a friend of Poirot’s. Here Hastings was in the role of assistant, a lot of Sherlock Holmes associate Dr. Like Watson, Feluda Topse, Kakababu’s Santu or Byomkesh’s friend Ajit.
One thing I think happens because of writing like this, is that writing like this gives the reader a lot of thinking material all the time, the reader can know just as much as the detective assistant, a lot like standing behind a detective and watching the whole incident.
It can keep the reader in the fog as well as drag him to the end because of his interest in solving mysteries. And Agatha Christie is above all in this work.
The editor of Agatha Christie Samagra is Md. Fouad Al Fidah, a popular writer and translator of the country. So there is no need to say that the translation will be top class. And as translators there are also popular translators like Fuad Bhai and Maruf Bhai. Fuad Bhai is translating this novel ‘The Murder on the Links’, so it would be a waste of time to rewrite the translation. However, for the new reader, I will just say this, there is nothing to worry about the translation, if the translator has the name of Fouad Bhai in his place, you can take it with closed eyes.
Although the spelling was not wrong, there were small typing mistakes in a few places. It is normal to have two typing mistakes in a big book and these do not cause any difficulty in reading, but since it is an official translation, I hope we will get a more perfect book in the next sections.
Well, now let me make a complaint. Everything is fine in the whole book except the binding. The binding was so tight that I had to fight to get the book open. He could not read without pulling with both hands, he wants to stop with a little relaxation, and it is almost impossible to lie down with one hand. Hopefully the subject in the next sections
